Waimea Bay

Waimea

Oahu

Waimea Bay is a world-famous beach on Oahu's North Shore, known for its massive winter waves and calm summer waters. It's a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and watching experienced surfers tackle some of the biggest waves in the world.

  • Best for: families, couples, surfing, sunset, photography, watching surfers
  • Activities: swimming, sunbathing, surfing, bodyboarding, snorkeling, cliff jumping (seasonal), paddleboarding
  • Facilities: restrooms, showers, lifeguard, picnic_tables
  • Parking: There's a fairly large parking lot right across the street from Waimea Bay. It fills up *incredibly* quickly, especially during the winter surf season and on weekends. Get there early – before 9 am if you can – to snag a spot. People will often wait in line for a parking spot to open.
